The Lady with the Light

The lady with the light
Light on her face
Darkness around
And pacing up the pace
Giving up her light
To light the dark
The darkness of her race
From the brightness of her face

A few people stood apart
Few fell in the line
Some praised the effort she made
Some taunted for tasting the wine
She, but still, turning deaf
Not overwhelmed by praise
Not brought down by ungracious gaze
Went on to conquer
Homes in the hearts
Hearts of the birds
Birds flying in dark
Dark, but as light as clouds
For the pinch of light
She rained on it
She saw the sides
No one else ever did

She was the lady with the light
Born to light up the seven coloured sky
She had to forego the darkness within
She had to swallow the venom of  her kin
She had to craft greatness
With her deadly claws
Why then she stands here ,like a sinful pause?
