Shooting Star

I cried, I cried, I cried

For the shooting star out of my sight

I made wishes all my life

For things that were never in my lines

For when the sun used to rise

I used to have the perfect sleep

The night was the best time for it

And I used to think I’m the star

And so I need to glitter through the nights

It’s the day where my presence doesn’t count

And I let the sadness on myself mount

My castle of sand

On the beach of dreams

By one yawn of her

It all got sweeped

Now I carry myself

Like a loaf of bread

Waiting to be sliced

For the celebration to begin!

Not Today!

 Not today!

She said and crossed the bar

The bar which has been raised above multiple times

Each time there was a new reason

Love is what they call such festive season

Not today!

She said and needed some time

The time which was so hard to pass by

Not today!

She had firm in her mind

Not today, is the same

He whispered in his mind

Not today!

Is what she called it fair

The fare of the fairness was so unfair

Not today,

He thinks will be that day

Not today! She explains and sways away

Not today!

She kills two things in an arrow

The waste of time and The time

Like the stories of farrow

Not today, he explained

He is the same

Not today! - She yet again passes on blame

Not today, he wishes

Could sleep without the weep

Not today, is what his fate reads

If only I could !

If only I could remember

What I was when the time was mine

If only I could remember

How the sun shine

I look upon the tree

I See the rain drop

From the last rain of the summer

The wind blew, the tree shook

The drop but was still there

I climbed up to adore its strength

I saw it was me!

And the one I took as a strength to be

It was the sign of ceasing to live

For dead don’t move, don’t groove , don’t grow

No matter how furious the ire, the sorrow

The natural is often not so obvious

The brightness is least nearest to the light

Resistance to logic is not always the instinct

And the one with the greatest smile, has the greatest plight

But,

If only I could remember

These words when I needed

If only I could

Go back in time!

How far ?

How far can you go

If you got nothing to achieve

Nothing to look for

Nothing to be

When you have won it all

Or lost every bit

When you know the end has begun

How far can you go

For when you are left with no purpose

No goals

And no thoughts to behold

How far can you go

When there is no one to celebrate with

No one to admire you

No one to desire you

How far can you go

When you find no one to look upon

No one to compete

No glory to glamour

No story to blabber

How far can you go

When the sun doesn’t show up

After the long dark night

And the owl hoots

At the haunt of your sight!

How far will you go

Before you realise

All the things you think kills you

Is what keeping you alive!

The Crowd

Between destiny and destination

The thoughts swayed in dismay

Like the snow from the shoulders

Shrugged away

They stand still

For some wind to guide them

Like it guides the rain

Hoping to reach a place

Steady and peaceful

Where the hustle is mocked upon

And where the stories of their miserable life

Will never be looked upon

That’s all they want

For they stand still

Like the tree which grows to fade in autumn

And the river born to loose it’s existence to the ocean

They close their eyes to hide from the light

And hope that no one would see they gave up on the fight

For those who give up

Tell no tales of victory

They look for a life

To hide away their misery

For not all are born

To conquer the world

Some stay in the audience

And just applause

The Wait

When lost in thoughts

I’m with me

The reels of reality don’t suit me

Those days, when we waited for the better time

The best it was

That passed by

I scoop into the layers

Of smiles and happiness

The one that seems

Distant past

Distant future

Distant in faith

Yet destined!

Yet destined, I know they are

For that’s what the nature has taught

The loop of night and day

Of summer and winter

Of rain and dry

Of spring and autumn

Of life and death

I know we will meet

When the grasses turn green

And the sky bit more blue

Till then I have it all in my mind to relive

The memories I had stuck with my heart’s glue

Journey of the fall

The wind blows as it should

It’s me who couldn’t breathe

The one who chose

To fly so high

The one who wasn’t

Happy with the breeze

For fool some say

Some call it wise

The decision to not jump

Just because there wasn’t enough height

To feel the fall

To live the fall

The fall which could

Take what’s all

But little they know

All I have got

I gathered along the fall

Of all the jump I got

From heights beyond the clouds

The higher I go

The longer I fall

The more time I have

To gather things around

And call them my own

For the best things

Are neither in sky nor on ground

Somewhere between

Is the balance profound

Hard to get, harder to be found

For its beyond the sight of eyes

On which we all have been proud

And so I choose to fall

Everytime I reach up there

To see for what

Up is too up

Down is too down

And that’s the place where

Wind blows as it should

And I couldn’t breathe

As I’m in my own ambush!

Rewind

For some nights are there
To not to sleep
To feel the absence
The hustle of everything at halt
The sound of the heart beat
The presence of loss

To listen to the silence
For it shouts
To let the tears flow
For it never dried
To accept the emotions
Embrace them
Exempt self from being the better one
The understandable
The mature man

For some stories are there
To not to be told
Rather be lived in
And play the favourite part

For some days are there
To not to be awake
To let pass
What should never have existed

And then
Some hopes are there
To let you live for the time
When you could recite the tale
And rewind!

The merry song

The river that flows from top to down
The clearer as u go up
The filthier as u go down
Not because it grows along
But for the people around
The more around
The less clean
That’s exactly how are we

Accessible yet limited
Up to date yet vintage
Flying high yet deep rooted
That’s what it takes
To have never been defeated

For failures aren’t defeat
Looking back isn’t defeat
Accepting weakness
Makes you great
And it’s the time
That has the light to show the way

The clouds that fly up in the sky
Beneath you, if you go too up
So is life
Neither down on ground nor up in sky
Somewhere between
Where the birds fly
Where the green trees and blue waters aren’t too far
Where the warmth of sun and smell of wind aren’t faded
Where the brightest start is close yet we can keep our eyes open
Where the crowd isn’t on the way often trodden

Yes! You will make it
For that’s where we all belong
And then we can for once
Sit and sing the merry song

What could have been

Sitting on the pile of thoughts
Peeling my dead skins
Figuring how all the deeds of past
Were just setting up a plot
To settle me amid the waves
With no land in the sight
With mighty storm on its way
And the depth of the sea
Beneath my feet
I think of the things
That could have been
If I would have been
What should have been

I wander off everyday to the land of silence
Finding a new adobe everyday in different corners of islands
I like the sunsets more than the sunrise now
I like the lost name, more than the gone glory now
For it all has been
By what I had been
And the sorrowness of my heart
Everyday reckons
What could have been
If I would have been
What should have been

My tears no longer drops like a drop
Neither it flows like a relentless river to its shore
I have found my calmness
Buried beneath all the burden of myths
Far away from the dilemma of right vs wrong
Hiding fiercely from the judgment of good vs bad
I have found my calmness
At the most hustled stage
I have found my calmness
On the land of my own grave

Here, I lie down still
Looking up with stealth
Facing my own God within
Asking,What could have been
If I would have been
What should have been

The Forgottens

The chirps from the meadows
Those melodic rhymes
Once heard from morning pillows
The painting once drawn, now a memory
We all have a story, we amuse highly
Of birds’ whose feathers are in grandma’s diary

I hold on to the thoughts
Stuck abruptly
About the sparrows that filled up the balcony
About the dodo, no one now knows of
About the blue parrot, only known by the movie Rio
And many more such dear forgotten
Unforgotten in hearts but

I know I won’t
Yet I sleep
With the hope to wake up
In the yesterday, tomorrow
