The chirps from the meadows
Those melodic rhymes
Once heard from morning pillows
The painting once drawn, now a memory
We all have a story, we amuse highly
Of birds’ whose feathers are in grandma’s diary
I hold on to the thoughts
Stuck abruptly
About the sparrows that filled up the balcony
About the dodo, no one now knows of
About the blue parrot, only known by the movie Rio
And many more such dear forgotten
Unforgotten in hearts but
I know I won’t
Yet I sleep
With the hope to wake up
In the yesterday, tomorrow
